David is responsible for leading new investments for Madrona. He loves working side-by-side with great entrepreneurs pursuing big ideas in new and changing markets. David joined Madrona in 2010 as an Associate before taking time off to earn his MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. During his time as an Associate he worked with many portfolio companies, serving as a board observer for several, and helped found Rover.com with Madrona venture partner Greg Gottesman.
SILICON VALLEY STINT
While at Stanford, David worked at Meritech Capital Partners, a leading late-stage venture capital firm in Palo Alto, and was a member of the team at StartX, a non-profit accelerator for startups founded by Stanford students, faculty and recent alumni. Prior to Madrona, David worked as an investment banker in the Technology, Media & Telecommunications group at UBS, and in the strategy & ventures organization at The Wall Street Journal.
EXTRACURRICULAR AND EDUCATION
When he’s not embracing his inner geek playing Magic: The Gathering, David co-hosts the technology podcast Acquired.fm and enjoys reading, writing and “conservatively” pursuing extreme sports (ask him how much safety gear he owns). David earned a bachelor of arts from Princeton University, and his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
