George Huang


George joined Madrona in 2013. George works on identifying and investigating new investment opportunities and is closely involved with Madrona’s portfolio companies. George also volunteers and mentors for a number of startup initiatives around Seattle. “The Pacific Northwest has a wealth of technical and business talent, a thriving ecosystem of large and small tech companies, and the best summer weather in this country. Seattle’s entrepreneurs have a tradition of customer-centricity and an obsession for solving hard problems.”

Past lives

Prior to joining Madrona, George worked in investment banking as an analyst in Morgan Stanley’s technology group in Silicon Valley. At Morgan Stanley, George worked on M&A and capital raising transactions for later-stage companies in the technology sector. His experience includes the initial public offerings of Workday and Groupon, Ariba’s sale to SAP, and Tencent’s investment in Epic Games.

Education and extracurricular

George graduated summa cum laude from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics, with concentrations in Finance and Accounting and a minor in Music. In his spare time, George enjoys running, attending concerts and discovering new music, and following the latest Internet memes.
