TeamOn was later sold to RIMM and their technology became the basis of the Blackberry Web Client for personal email. It was tremendously exciting to be on the ground floor of such an innovative product.”

At Madrona: John manages Madrona's internal technology infrastructure and also consults with Madrona’s portfolio companies as they establish their infrastructure. Additionally, he participates in technical due diligence for potential investments, and often works closely with entrepreneurs to test their technology and provide essential feedback. John joined Madrona in 2000. “I was attracted to Madrona for the breadth of experience among team members and their high integrity. Everyone is so clearly dedicated to our entrepreneurs and helping their innovative products and ideas find a place in the market.”
Past lives: John was a technology consultant for Wright Runstad & Company where he developed a leasing information system and managed the accounting systems. Prior to that, he was a security consultant and IT auditor for Honeywell Inc.
Education: John received his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
