Typeface Unleashes Generative AI for Personalized Enterprise Content Creation

Soma - Typeface Founder and CEO Abhay Parasnis

Today, we are thrilled to announce Madrona’s investment in Typeface alongside lead investor Salesforce Ventures and existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners, GV (Google Ventures), Menlo Ventures, and M12 (Microsoft’s Venture Fund).

Generative AI has captured all our imaginations and is opening up a world of creative possibilities. We are in the midst of a transformative shift where creative AI workflows are ripe for innovation. And as content gets commoditized, organizations must find new ways to communicate their unique narratives. However, today, there is a gap in the available solutions for content generation. While many existing platforms deliver unprecedented speed, they are often generic and lack advanced knowledge to operationalize data and understand each brand’s unique voice and style. This is where Typeface comes in. Typeface is building an industry-first intelligent platform that empowers enterprises to generate personalized content, harnessing their unique data to deliver multimodal, brand-specific assets in a safe and reliable way.

I have known Typeface Founder and CEO Abhay Parasnis for over 20 years, starting when we worked together at Microsoft. Over the years, we at Madrona have developed profound respect and appreciation for Abhay as a brilliant technologist and go-to-market leader. Abhay is the former CTO and CPO of Adobe and has strong expertise in digital experience, cloud marketing, and media. Over the last year, we have also been impressed by the team Abhay has assembled, who all possess a deep understanding of how to apply state-of-the-art technology to solve customer problems. We believe the Typeface team will transform the creative content creation landscape, allowing enterprises to tell their stories like never before.

Typeface’s platform offers a broad and powerful set of capabilities that include:

  • Graph: a unified multimodal hub for all generated content (text, images, and more.) based on the assets and brand guidelines the user uploads.
  • Blend: Typeface’s Affinity AI, which self-learns and customizes high-end personalized content to each brand’s voice, style, and audience. With dedicated AI models for each customer, Typeface protects each brand and its digital assets.
  • Flow: easy-to-use, self-serve templates and tools for a wide range of workflows across departments (marketing, sales, product, HR, and more), which natively embed into a customer’s existing apps and workflows.

Here are a few ways customers are using Typeface today:

  • A content marketing manager at a beauty company can generate an entire Instagram post (product shot and caption) to promote the launch of its new perfume using brand-approved wording and product assets.
  • A demand generation manager at a B2B SaaS company can repurpose a webinar video recording into a 500-word blog post, follow-up email to attendees, or short, catchy tweets with just a prompt.
  • A product manager can surface key action items from notes, customer calls, meetings, and more using Typeface’s Generative Refine feature (in-line AI writing assistant).
  • A recruiting manager can create a new job posting in minutes with key responsibilities, equal opportunity statements, standardized company overview, and more.

Typeface seamlessly integrates into existing enterprise workflows and creates dedicated AI models for each customer, which enables them to tailor AI-generated multimodal content for different personas and audience segments without concerns about data leakage. With Typeface, businesses can ultimately drive 10x more personalized content for brands, increasing engagement and maximizing content marketing performance.

Typeface is already seeing strong signs of customer traction with some phenomenal technology and go-to-market partnerships. Earlier this month, the company announced a strategic partnership with Google Cloud and, in the last week, another partnership with Salesforce. Customers leveraging Salesforce Marketing GPT can now use Typeface’s generative AI content platform to create visual assets for multi-channel campaigns — an incredibly exciting unlock.

Madrona has been investing in intelligent application companies for over a decade, including some of our recent investments in RunwayML and Deepgram. We could not be more excited to partner with Abhay and the entire team at Typeface on their journey to build the next industry-defining generative AI company for the enterprise.
